Year 6 is the final year of primary school for Kent Road students and an exciting year where students will be provided with the opportunity to take a leadership role within our school community. Throughout the year, students will continue to build and extend the literacy and numeracy skills and strategies they have developed in Year 5. Through the regular use of technology, students will enhance their inquiry, research and critical thinking skills, whilst learning to be responsible digital citizens. Students will also begin preparing for their transition to high school through personal development activities, wellbeing days and our High School Transition Program.
Within Year 6, there will be many extra-curricular opportunities for students to develop additional skills such as Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA) sport teams, debating and the peer reading program, as well as to refine their leadership skills as our school leaders and sport house captains.
