Year 1 is the start of learning Stage 1 and will continue until the end of Year 2. This year students learn through a broad spectrum of academic subjects, sport, drama and music. Classrooms tailor the curriculum to develop creativity and problem solving skills and encourage students to grow independence. Building upon their Kindergarten experiences, Year 1 continue to lay the foundations through having a strong emphasis on literacy and numeracy.
Students develop their social skills through learning and play opportunities both in the classroom and the playground.
There are many fun learning experiences where children engage in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and collaborative projects to extend their understanding of topics.
Student’s are taught about well-being through a social skills program that embraces relationships, emotions and growth mindset. We aim to have happy children who have a love of learning and are excited about their experiences at school.
